Just like fashion, LANGUAGES evolve with time. Today, millennials and generation X are using terms in Hindi and English which can be overwhelming for any previous generation parent. Today we are enumerating some slang and lingos that are highly popular among Indian millennials. Let’s see them one by one: –

OMG

OMG is an acronym for “Oh My God”. If anyone in your group has a voice like Janice from FRIENDS, this lingo perfectly suits her. It is used to express shock or excitement.

 

Obvio

Obvio is short for Obviously. If someone asks whether you want Dessert or not, you can say, “Obvio”. 

 

TBH

TBH stands for “To Be Honest”. While having a conversation, it is used to emphasize that someone is honest or truthful about something. 

 

LMK

LMK is for “Let Me Know”. It is a short form to keep someone informed in advance about something. 

 

BAE

BAE stands for “Before Anyone Else”. It is used to denote someone who is an utmost priority for you. 

 

Jhand Karna

It’s time for some Hindi slang now. Jhand Karna means to embarrass someone or to make fun of someone. This should be done in moderate amounts otherwise your “roastee” might get hurt emotionally. 

 

Mast Maula

Being Mast Maula means someone who is content with his life. In some cases, it can also be used for someone careless too. 

 

Bhasad

Bhasad is used to signify mess of a situation or place. Next time when your room seems a mess to you, just say, “Poori Bhasad machi padi hai”.

 

Ant Sant Bolna

Ant Sant Bolna means to talk rubbish that doesn’t make any sense at all. You can use it if your friend’s conversation is making no sense to you at all.
