College time is one of the most important times in an individual’s life. As you are above 18 and recently done with your 12th standard boards, you get to have unparallel freedom in your college time. And if you’ve decided to live in a hostel, then you will experience semi-adult life where you will be deciding for your life. Here are 7 things we advise from our experience to NOT to do in college: –
STAYING IN COMFORT ZONE
The whole point of college is to try out new stuff. If all you do in college is going to class and then staying in your hostel room, then you are doing a disservice to yourself. Make stuff, break stuff or read stuff; basically, explore as much as possible.
FOCUSSING ONLY ON STUDIES
The world has changed now. Being a rote learner bookworm will take you no far. Times are gone when companies hire folks only based on their marks. Nowadays you need more, which we are discussing next.
NOT DEVELOPING ANY OTHER SKILLS
We are living in a skilled economy. So, apart from your studies, develop some skills that will be useful to companies or society in some way. You can learn Coding, Graphic Designing, Plumbing, etc.
EATING ONLY TASTY CRAP
If you know about basic food science, you would not put foods in your bodies that you are putting right now. You shouldn’t and mustn’t make Fast Foods an active part of your daily diet. It’s not only unhealthy but not financially viable.
NO EXERCISING AND ZERO PARTICIPATION IN SPORTS
It’s important to take care of your physical body by exercising or indulging in sports. Remember, “no play makes Jack a dull boy”. You can join Gym or Yoga classes, or play any of the sport in your college.
DOING STUFF TO PLEASE OTHERS
Don’t let others make you do something that you don’t want to do. Peer pressure has destroyed many lives, don’t let yours be one of them.
IMMERSING YOURSELF COMPLETELY INTO RELATIONSHIPS
Let’s get to the most crucial point of all: RELATIONSHIPS AT COLLEGE. Set your priorities before immersing yourself in any romantic relationship. As if things don’t work out with your special one, you know your other priorities on the top.
